Emergency HVAC Repair in Cheney

When your furnace dies at 2 a.m. or the AC quits in a heat wave, we answer the phone. We check for gas, carbon monoxide and electrical hazards before anything else. Then we find the fault and tell you in writing what the fix costs.

When a Breakdown Can't Wait for Monday

Some HVAC problems can sit until a regular weekday visit. Others can't. No heat on a January night, a furnace that keeps tripping the breaker, or an AC failure when someone in the house is elderly or sick. That's what our emergency HVAC repair line is for, and we run it 24/7.

Our first job on an emergency call is safety, not speed. A furnace that won't stay lit can be a bad flame sensor. It can also be a cracked heat exchanger leaking exhaust into your home. We find out which before we touch the thermostat again.

There are no emergency or after-hours fees. A night call is priced the same way as a daytime one, and you get a written quote before any work begins.

What an Emergency Visit Covers

Safety check on arrival
We check for carbon monoxide by the furnace and in the rooms you live in. We test the gas line and fittings for leaks, and look for burnt wiring or a burning odor at the unit and the panel.
Shutting down what's unsafe
When a part is dangerous, we cut its gas or power and explain why. We won't fire up a system we believe could hurt someone just to restore heat for the night.
Finding the part that actually failed
We pin the fault to the specific part, whether that's an igniter, a blower motor, a capacitor or a control board. If you have us make the repair, the diagnostic charge is deducted from the bill.
Repair from the truck when we can
Our trucks stock the furnace, AC and heat pump parts that break most often, so plenty of repairs are done on the first trip.
A plan if a part has to be ordered
Now and then we don't have the part with us. We leave the system safe, rig a temporary fix when we can, and tell you plainly what comes next.

Signs You Need Emergency HVAC Repair

  • You smell gas

Get everyone out of the house first. From outside, call your gas utility or 911. Once the gas is shut off and it's safe, we'll come find and fix the source on the furnace side.

  • Your CO alarm goes off

Open a door, get everyone outside and call 911 if anyone feels dizzy or sick. A furnace that's leaking exhaust needs a trained check before it runs again.

  • No heat in freezing weather

Cheney winter nights drop well below freezing. A dead furnace puts pipes and people at risk within hours.

  • Burning smell or tripping breaker

A hot electrical smell, or a breaker that won't stay on, usually means a motor is overheating or a wire is breaking down. Switch the system off and don't try it again until it's been looked at.

  • Loud banging or grinding

Delayed ignition can bang. A failing blower bearing grinds. Both get worse fast and can take other parts with them.

What Happens After You Pick Up the Phone

  1. 1

    Tell us what's going on

Describe what you see, hear and smell, and we'll sort out how urgent it is. If it sounds like a gas leak or CO, we'll tell you to get out and call the right people first.

  2. 2

We arrive and check for hazards

Before any repair, we test for CO, check gas connections and look over the electrical side. If something's unsafe, we shut it down.

  3. 3

We diagnose and give you a written quote

Once we know the fault, you get a written quote for the repair. Nothing gets fixed until you say yes.

  4. 4

    We repair and test

We make the fix, run the system through a full cycle and recheck for CO and gas. We clean up and show you the old part if you want to see it.

What Moves the Price of an Emergency Repair

A night call costs no more, because we have no emergency or after-hours fees. The price depends on the repair itself, and you get it in writing before we begin.

The part that failed
An igniter or capacitor is a small part and a fast fix. A blower motor, control board or compressor part costs more and takes more time.
Access to the equipment
A furnace wedged into a crawlspace or tight attic takes longer to work on than one in an open garage or basement.
Age and type of system
Parts for older furnaces and AC units can be harder to track down. Heat pumps and ductless mini-splits use their own parts with their own prices.
Damage beyond the first failure
When a failed part keeps running too long, it can harm others. If we find more than one problem, we tell you and price each separately.

Emergency HVAC Repair Questions

Something not covered here? (509) 309-8324

Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or holidays?

No. There are no emergency or after-hours fees. You pay only for the repair, and you see its price in writing first.

I smell gas. Should I call you first?

No. Get everyone out of the house, then call 911 or your gas utility once you're outside. Leave light switches and the thermostat alone as you go. After the gas is off and it's safe, call us to track down and fix the furnace problem.

Can I just reset the furnace and wait until morning?

A single reset is fine as long as there's no gas smell, no burning smell and no CO alarm. If it quits again, keep it off. Restarting a failing furnace over and over can add damage or create a hazard.

What if you can't fix it the same night?

We'll leave the system safe and explain what it needs. If a part must be ordered, we tell you how long it should take and how to stay warm or cool safely in the meantime.

Is the diagnostic fee extra on top of the repair?

No. The diagnostic fee goes toward the repair, so if we do the work, it's subtracted from the total.

Do you handle emergencies outside Cheney?

Yes. Our area also includes Medical Lake, Airway Heights, Fairchild AFB, Spokane and Town and Country. Just tell us your location when you call.
